We had the good fortune of connecting with Summer Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Summer, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Having faith in a world driven by popularity and conformation runs the risk of sudden goodbyes. For the sake of one more life, being a Christian often means being misunderstood and that is ok. In this case, the reward outweighs the risk and this drives the force behind our ministry.

What should our readers know about your business?
Blended Book Co. is a blended family ministry with a Grow and Go mission. Grow in your walk with God by developing deep meaningful connections and then go share His good news to other blended families in need.We offer three growth opportunities including quarterly Get Togethers, ongoing Groups, and one annual Gathering.Once your personal community is established we encourage a Go culture. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Local is life both to the community and in the depths of my soul. Let’s talk local, now that we’ve gone there. The Biscuit Bar, to die. Best of both worlds; country cooking and mod local flare. It’s a yes. A local lunch, let’s hop over to Downtown McKinney and onto a picnic table at The Yard. A ranch water, yes please. She and I met here and it was the beginning of a long term romance. Topo Chico is so pretty. Date night dives deep into bowls of queso which is quite possibly my love language. Well, queso and a good tequila. Mexican Sugar (and Mesero a close second) has my heart and 7:30 reservations on a Friday night. What else? I mean at 43 I’m not hopping the bar scene much any more and mostly found sippin’ specials off the HH menu because, let’s face it, I’m in bed by 9 on most nights. Sorry friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I found God sitting around a table for of Godly women and I haven’t stopped chasing Him sense. I’ve learned there’s a little bit of each of us in all of us and here’s to the women who showed up showing me the kind of love that saves you. If that’s you, you know.
