We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheena Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It offered me the opportunity to pursue my passions, create something meaningful, and achieve financial independence for me and my kids. Being a single mom, I wanted to make sure my kids future is bright and successful, and they live the most comfortable life possible.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an independent single mom and have worked in the healthcare field for over 10 years. Then I branched out into starting my own business in the lash industry, also branching into breeding frenchies and other breeds, and also will be taking Texas Real Estate Exam and renovations houses in the near future. But Nothing came easy in my life. I got where I am today by never giving up on myself for my kids and never being satisfied. Never being content with where I am in life. I’m going to always keep pushing for more. Bettering myself and my life for my future. Getting More money, starting more businesses, always working towards a better house, a better car, etc. Keep striving for the best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas has the best spots and funnest places to go but definitely would need to go to a Mavs, Ranger, or Cowboys game. Also the Dallas museum of Art. Deep ellum, Uptown, the arts district in Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give recognition to my mother Dixie Wright who passed away last year, who always instilled in me to push for my dreams and never give up. Also to always make sure you can depend on yourself and no one else if you need to and you can still succeed in life.
