We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Irby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always wanted to be my own boss. Always wanting to be influential to people and bring everyone despite there background together. Also, I love food, talking and taking pics of food. Food blogging is in my DNA!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started blogging about food long before the term blogging was popular. I always shared my ideas of food and interests in trying food with others. It became the usual thing for friends and family to call and ask about different restaurants or my thoughts on certain food. It than became a hobby of minds I now enjoy doing. I learned everything has a story behind it. I want the world to know there are a few things that make us different from one another but there is a lot more we have in common than what meets the eye.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, there’s so many!! Probably for breakfast I would have to take them to another broken egg in Southlake TX then for lunch I would definitely take them to Babes chicken. For dinner we definitely gonna go to lolos chicken and waffles!! Throughout the week we would definitely go to different places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up in Louisiana my grandmother cooked a lot and I found my 1st love for food with her. I soon started watching cooking shows and reading several books. I finally married a beautiful and intelligent woman and the added bonus is she can really cook.
