Meet Shanna Boger | Certified Wedding Planner and Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanna Boger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shanna, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I made the decision to totally trust God and step out on faith. After years of fear and anxiety, while working in corporate America, I decided to trust God as I have never had before in my life. I have always known that there was a bigger purpose on my life. One day after I received a negative mid-year review from my manager, I took a moment and prayed and asked God if this where you want me? A calming feeling came over me and I decided that day to leave and start my own business. On that day I decided to create a work environment that was peaceful and calming. I wanted a business where I felt appreciated, had a work-life balance, and was able to ask questions without the fear of being criticized or spoken down to.

In December 2012, I began to create the path of my working for myself full time. In May 2019, I accomplished my goal of working for myself full-time. This was the best decision I made for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being the owner and creative director of PRP Luxury Group is allowing me to create the life I want. It has not been easy, but it has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. This journey is helping me learn so much about myself and what I have to offer. I have worked extremely hard by learning all I can about the wedding and event industry, my ideal client, and love!

The most challenging part of entrepreneurship for me is “getting out of my own way”. I had to learn to trust myself and my talent. I had to learn to the true, authentic Shanna Boger. It has been a journey of ups and downs but so rewarding. I now know who I am and what I have to offer. the most important thing I have learned is to love without boundaries, remove the limitations for myself and business, and most of have fun!

PRP Luxury Group is a concierge planning and designing company that bring couples love story to life. The drive behind PRP is love. I want to world to see that there is still love, real love in the world and it should be celebrated and cherished. Yes, we are the curators of beauty, but our focus is love and creating an amazing experience for our clients.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of others. So, is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out to my mother, Wanda Gates. She is why I’m in the wedding and event industry. Growing up my mother was a wedding planner and florist. I helped her with my wedding during my teenage years. So many that I hated it! When I graduated from high school, I was made the decision to go to college and major in accounting. I thought this was a sure way of being successful and never working on a wedding or event again. But little did I know that in 2006, I got the bug and could not shake it. So finally in 2012, I listen to my inner voice and became honest with myself that the wedding and event industry is where I need to be.

So here I am, the owner of PRP Luxury Group. I’m working hard to make my mother proud.
