Hi Salena, how do you think about risk?
Risks are an essential part of growth, personally and professionally. For me, taking risks has often meant stepping outside of comfort zone to pursue opportunities with uncertain outcomes, but high rewards. The beauty industry is always shifting with new trends; innovation is essential in this industry. Taking the risk in starting a business has opened so many doors for me, that never would I have done without being in this beauty industry. Not all things have gone as planned and hoped for but regardless every step has been such a great learning experience.

About Glamaris Cosmetics

Glamaris Cosmetics began in 2022 as a simple step—a way to get back into the workforce after my little one started school. What started as “just needing a job” turned into a passion, a business, and a journey of personal growth that I never imagined. Today, Glamaris Cosmetics is more than a beauty brand—it’s a reflection of resilience, hard work, and the belief that you can create something beautiful, even from humble beginnings.

I specialize in microblading and microshading brows, lash extensions, botox, lip injections, and lip blushing. Every service is rooted in precision, education, and a deep desire to help my clients feel empowered and beautiful in their own skin.

What sets me apart is my dedication to pushing myself—especially on the hard days, when business is slow or motivation is low. I’ve invested in myself by taking over 10 advanced beauty courses, constantly improving my skills and knowledge. I show up every day, even when it’s uncomfortable, because I believe in what I’m building and my clientele.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come—from a beginner looking for a job, to a beauty professional running my own business. Glamaris Cosmetics is built on persistence, passion, and purpose—and I’m just getting started.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All my success and love are dedicated to my children and my husband. The time and effort I’ve had to put into work to be where I’m at today, they are there in my corner as my support, helping me, cheering me on, and encouraging me to never give up in anything I do.
