We had the good fortune of connecting with Sacrenette “SAC” Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sacrenette “SAC”, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Consistency, setting myself up each day for success,EVERY SINGLE DAY. Customer to customer. Cleaning constantly and using top notch tools …….more

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career started crazy, because before being a barber you have to complete 1500 hrs of study. A week before my start date, I broke my leg. I contacted them for a new start date and they said it would take another month to get in….so I went on crutches. I did not want to wait. So I completed 1500 hrs of barber then 600 hrs of Barber Instructor. Determination was my only factor. Then I preceded to teach for about 9 yrs and been behind the chair about 7 yrs now. I learned a lot with teaching others and cutting for the homeless about 4 years. It taught me a lot on dealing with customers and grooming my professionalism.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would probably take them to Gloria’s the first night for dinner and margaritas. Throughout the week, we would visit the cigar lounge called Pendulum on Bryant Irvin, we would definitely hang out on Magnolia Ave. The Magnolia wine bar is a favorite along with Gus’s Fried Chicken. Being from Mississippi we would probably do more cooking and drinking at my home. Fort Worth has so many hidden gems and exciting People in it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I always show love to Jonathan Morris who owns Fort Worth Barbershop. I was very inspired when I worked under his umbrella. Really most of the successful barbers that worked there took a little piece of them to help continue growth of what a barber/barbershop should be.
