We had the good fortune of connecting with Romana Mehar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Romana, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Starting my journey with SKIN Med Spa & Laser was a leap of faith. It was a dream to do something for myself, but being a mother of 3 children, full time nurse and wife, daughter and sister, time and energy was always focused on others. As a parent you are always thinking about how every step you take will impact my children. Now almost 3 years in, I feel like I couldn’t have made a better decision. My children see me following my dreams, and they know it is not always easy, or glamorous but it is always worth it! I also see my children understanding that they to can accomplish big things one step one day on idea at a time. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SKIN Med Spa & Laser, is a full service medical spa, for everyday beautiful women. We are dedicated to making our clients feel beautiful in their own skin. We are not attempting to change or alter but enhance and improve. I think what really sets us apart is, we have in depth nurse consultations with our clients and really listen to what they are try to achieve. We make SKIN Plans in which we customize treatments and products according to their comfort and budget. This is a highly competitive field so it isn’t easy staying on top, but it is a conscious decision to do so everyday. We choose not to rush our clients, to reach out and follow up after every treatment. My biggest challenge was not trying to do everything myself. I learned to do what i do best and leave accounting to the experts.Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Dallas! I dont think I could live anywhere else. I would spend my time downtown taking a JFK Assasination tour, followed by lunch at Klyde warren park trying out all the food trucks. Crossing the street to the Dallas Museum of Arts and then Bishop Arts District for some really eclectic places to eat and enjoy live music. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my husband. He was the courage I needed when mine faltered. He was also the guy that had the dishes done and dinner on the table on those long grueling days when nothing went like it was supposed to. He has assumed tasks without any hesitation, or without making me feel like he did. We are truly a team and being able to focus on my career without all the mommy guilt that comes with it has been the true reason for my success. My husband always was a good provider but he has done more than provide for me, he has invested in me.
