We had the good fortune of connecting with Renisha Franklin-Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to create work that I enjoy doing everyday. Of course there’s the goal of financial independence, but I also want to wake up genuinely excited to get to work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In my professional career, I am currently a mortgage loan processor. As a business owner, I am a balloon stylist. I have always been the go-to person in my family and friend’s circle for anything decor related and I am most proud that I decided to take it to another level. I am still building my brand and to see my client’s faces light up at an event keeps me going despite any obstacles I face. Although people have always celebrated life’s milestones, I believe that since Covid-19 hit, the significance has been heightened. I want the world to know that my brand, Chic Balloons, will be right there celebrating with them!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food, I would take them to The Capital Grille for amazing upscale dining, Pluckers for great wings and drinks, Eatzi’s for some food shopping, and Pappadeaux for seafood.

For exercise, I would take them to Cedar Ridge Preserve to hike a few trails or White Rock Lake to take a stroll.

For nightlife, I would take them to Waterproof rooftop bar for breathtaking views of downtown Dallas, Truth & Alibi for a low key speakeasy vibe, Louie Louie’s Piano Bar for some fun tunes, and Four Day Weekend for hilarious entertainment.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my family and friends because they all have my back when it comes to my business! They give honest feedback through conversation, assist with installs, and watch my son during events. I couldn’t do it without them!!
