We had the good fortune of connecting with Raychelle Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raychelle, is there something you believe many others might not?
For a very long time I feel that there has been one defined path to the “American Dream”. The path has been to go to school, get good grades, obtain a college degree, and get a good job (which most commonly includes becoming a doctor, dentist, lawyer, investment banker, etc.), then to work until age 65, and retire.

The path to financial independence now has many routes., We now have access, a wealth of information, tools, and resources at our fingertips that prior generations only made available to few.

The internet has made it possible to make money in many ways, no matter where you are in the world. From freelancing, selling products online, affiliate marketing, blogging, offering online courses, investing, etc. The opportunities are endless!

For the first time in history, I truly believe that financial independence, is attainable for many people. Not only is it possible, but the “traditional” path of working a 9-5 job for 65+ years, isn’t the only route to get there.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Moving to a new city, starting a new job, and creating a new life for myself, all forced me to take on adulthood headfirst. Thankfully, I had the support of my parents and other resources that allowed me to smoothly transition and take on new financial responsibility that I wasn’t previously privy to. This is when I realized that some of the most valuable and necessary life skills required for all adults, financial literacy, isn’t taught to all students through the traditional education system.

I’ve had the opportunity to guide and witness family members and close friends accomplish major financial milestones and improve various aspects of their financial lives. Seeing firsthand how financial wellness can have such a positive impact on a person’s life was the reason I started Luxe Literacy. Through Luxe Literacy, I plan to help provide financial education, resources and support to not only family and friends, but to all who seek it.

The mission of Luxe Literacy is to bridge the knowledge gap to allow opportunities that stem from a better financial position. Money and finances are important and applicable to every person, yet many adults lack the basic knowledge necessary to create a budget, maintain a healthy credit score, or even buy a home. We strive to change the negative perception of money and personal finances that many tend to have, and instead encourage people to take control of their financial lives without letting their money control them.

At Luxe Literacy, our goal is to create a community of motivated, like minded, individuals on the journey to financial success. Our platform is a space where no matter the stage you are at in your financial journey. You will feel the support and have others around you on the same journey to uplift you during those challenging times and rooting for you at every mile stone.

We promote community through our Instagram and Facebook platforms. Our Instagram page promotes financial wellness and draws people into the Luxe community. Our facebook page is a more intimate setting that allows our community to discuss and share their journey and receive the support and guidance of other like minded individuals and also includes a Book Club for our community members.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents get the biggest shoutout and all the credit for where I am today. If it weren’t for their guidance, love, stability, and encouragement in all my endeavors I wouldn’t be where I am today. I can’t thank them enough for all they have done and continue to do.
