We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is to be my authentic self. The #1 reason clients book with me is because of who I am; meaning, there was something about me they immediately trusted and connected with. That would not be the case if I wasn’t being true to who I am and my brand.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a floral designer and design for weddings, corporate events and just because. What sets me apart is that I do not take the same approach with floral work as many others do. I view creating arrangements the same way that an artist paints; I’m intentional about the colors and the mood that I want to invoke in my clients. I take your words to heart, the couple/clients energy and create unique arrangements that mirror who they are.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are a few spots that would be a must. Dino’s Subs in Arlington, The Stockyards and Sundance Square in Fort Worth, The Perot Museum, NorthPark, The Star, Le Bon Temps, the African American Museum of Dallas, Spiral Diner, Ellen’s and Sandaga.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Where to begin! Lol. I have so many people who have selflessly supported me on this entrepreneurial journey. I’ll start with my sister, Regina and best friend, Portia. They ALWAYS tell me the truth about myself when I least want to hear it. Lol. They’re constantly encouraging me and helping me whenever I need them to in any capacity. My Hospitality Ministry Leader, Lady Yolanda for always being gracious and encouraging me. She’s constantly pulling more and more out of me. Daphne for allowing me to call her anytime to bounce crazy creative ideas off of her. I’sha for letting me use her space anytime I need to and for challenging my drawn out timelines and pushing me to move quicker on my ideas. And Ginayle for being a constant cheerleader in my corner day and night.
