We had the good fortune of connecting with Qiana Abrams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Qiana, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, the most important thing I’ve done to impact my children is be present! I’m always making sure I’m present in my children’s activities, in their thoughts and interest because I know how important it was to me as a child. In being present it helps me connect and engage more with my children since we all love music and fitness and being outside, it’s such a great way to watch them grow.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a fitness trainer is cool as hell 😂 I hated gym as a kid because I did not like running, I did not like sweating and here I am big and grown and love both! I never thought I would make fitness a business, I really just wanted to feel better about my body and in that journey I’ve learned other women have felt the same way and also need a little push. Of course I overcame being nervous about failing, maybe people don’t want to train with me, maybe I won’t be a good trainer but who has time for those thoughts lol the biggest lesson I’ve learn is that fitness is a community and we should lean and learn from each other. Also all money isn’t good money and running my own business has also taught me that. I want people to know that I’m a bad mama jamma and my brand is where all the hot girls train 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to Dallas we are going to any hike or nature trail so we can talk and run our mouths. We would then go to the Dallas reunion tour tower for photo ops and then might do a nice trolley ride in the city! Dallas always has some free event outside so we would definitely take advantage of anything going on at Kylde Warren Park and any food truck lol I also absolutely love the museum on illusions!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate all my success and who I am to my husband and my children. When they say children save your life, they were not kidding! Do I think I still would be following the same path? Possibly, but my husband and children really put that fire under me to say I CAN DO THIS. I CAN BE A TRAINER. I CAN INSPIRE PEOPLE. And look at me, doing it. So shoutout to yall, I love yall!
