We had the good fortune of connecting with Patti G. Sayabouasy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patti G., career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to be able to live comfortably with my family and in the same breath be able to contribute to the community. While setting an example for my daughter to forge her own way and be an example to anyone that looks like us. It’s essential to see ourselves in positions of entrepreneurship, leadership and success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Rhiver Studio is spearheaded by myself as well as my sister-in-law Annie. I primarily do skincare and specialize in dermaplane exfoliation along with relaxation facials. It is vital for me to create an environment where our clients can disconnect and pause for a moment. We’re on a hustle culture that has become the normal lately and it’s nice to be a place where people go to relax and unwind. What sets me apart? My focus on relaxation and graceful aging, I want to make growing older less daunting than what the industry has made it out to be. We’re all worthy of enjoying our day-to-day lives without worrying about our beautiful expressions that mark the times we’ve smiled, laughed or shed a tear.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well what’s my “best time ever” might be boring for someone else, but her we go! I’m a low key gamer and so is my partner, We would probably take them to Balkan Gardens in Grapevine for brunch, then maybe do an escape room at The Escape Game inside Grapevine Mills. If you want to get fancy we’ll do dinner at Don Artemio in Fort Worth, then do VR at Fixation VR in Hurst. Or even do Whirly Ball also in Hurst. If they’re in the mood for sushi we’ll do lunch at Hatsuyuki in Fort Worth. As I’ve gotten older these would be in my itinerary for “The Best Time Ever!”
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A lot of people deserve this credit. There is something Arnold Schwarzenegger once voiced and he continues to voice this, he said “The whole concept of the self-made man or woman is a myth.” And he goes on to explain that he didn’t make it thus far on his own, because if he did then he would discount every single person that has helped him get to where he is today. And I resonate with that, every decision from my parents migration back to the US when I was a kid, my brothers and sister who always have my back, to the schools I attended for my basic education, the teachers that never gave up on me, the people that showed me support during my time at cosmo school. My partner David who gave us the push to pursue our careers in the beauty industry! There are several people that I think of, their kindness, their space and their encouragement meant a lot then and it means a lot still. I have been blessed to have crossed their paths and they mine. So this is for them all! They have made an unmeasurable impact on this gal and I’m beyond grateful for that, they showed compassion, patience, love and I’ll always think of them!
