Meet Parker Poston | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Parker Poston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Parker, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been building strong connections. When starting out in photography, one of the biggest challenges is gaining clients and encouraging them to return. Developing meaningful relationships with people helps create opportunities and introduces your work to a wider audience. Connections often grow exponentially one person may recommend you to two others, and those people may share your work with even more potential clients. I would not have been able to turn photography into a full-time career without the support and connections I have built along the way, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities they have provided.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work focuses primarily on automotive photography. I currently work full-time for a local dealership taking inventory photos, while also working part-time with G2 Motorsports Park and, Lamborghini Club of Dallas. In addition to those roles, I also do private one-on-one shoots with owners and their vehicles. Being able to photograph cars in different environments from dealership inventory to track events to personalized shoots has allowed me to grow my skills and build strong relationships within the automotive community.
What may set me apart from other photographers in this field is my genuine passion for automotive photography. I truly enjoy what I do, and if I had to, I would still photograph cars simply because I love it. While many people in creative industries understandably focus on making a living, I believe that the passion behind the work is what really drives creativity and produces images that people can be proud of. For me, the process of creating something meaningful and capturing the personality of a car is just as rewarding as the final result.
Professionally, getting to where I am today has not been as difficult as some people might assume, especially considering that I only started photography about two years ago. A large part of that has been a combination of luck and being willing to act on opportunities when they appear. While luck is something none of us can control, recognizing opportunities and taking them seriously is something I have always tried to do. I have been extremely fortunate to receive opportunities that many talented photographers work toward for years, and I never take that for granted.
One important lesson I have learned along the way is to always stay humble and grateful. Success can change quickly, and nothing is guaranteed other than death. Because of that, I try to appreciate every opportunity and every person who has supported me along the way. If there is one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it is that I approach my work with gratitude and passion. Everything I have been able to accomplish so far has been a gift, and I will never lose sight of that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting the area for a week, I would want to show him some of the best things the Dallas–Fort Worth area has to offer especially since we both enjoy many of the same interests. During the weekdays I would still be working full-time and attending college, so he would likely spend that time exploring on his own. The real fun would start over the weekend.
On Saturday, we would wake up early and head to one or two car shows somewhere around the DFW area. We would spend a few hours walking around, looking at all the incredible cars, and talking with other enthusiasts. After that, we would definitely stop at Chick-fil-A for lunch. From there, we would drive over to DFW Car & Toy Museum in Fort Worth, where we could spend hours exploring the hundreds of cars and thousands of unique toys on display. Later in the afternoon, we would visit a few exotic car dealerships just to look around and admire the cars. Another stop would definitely be Micro Center, since there are not many locations in the United States and Dallas happens to have one. Knowing us, we would probably each end up spending far too much money on things we don’t really need. To finish the night, we would head over to Legacy West for dinner and just hang out for the evening.
Sunday would follow a similar theme. We would start the morning by going to another car show, then stop for lunch at In-N-Out Burger. After lunch, we would head to Thanks-Giving Square and explore the area, including the underground spaces that many people don’t realize are there. Later in the afternoon, we would drive up to G2 Motorsports Park to watch people race or enjoy some laps around the track ourselves if possible. To wrap up the weekend, we would once again head back to Legacy West for dinner and relax after a full couple of days. Overall, it would be a weekend filled with cars, good food, and exploring some of the most interesting places around the DFW area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not have been able to achieve success in photography without the support of many people, companies, and organizations that have helped and continue to support my passion. There are far too many individuals to name, but I am especially grateful to the clients who trust me with their photos, as well as fellow photographers and friends who have encouraged and supported me along this path. G2 Motorsports Park played a major role in my journey by giving me the opportunity to photograph several of their events, which eventually led to me becoming one of their photographers, and leading to my love of racing fast cars. Lamborghini Club of Dallas has also been incredibly supportive, even trusting me as their primary photographer whenever members need photos taken, or parties photographed. Through these opportunities, I have built many lifelong friendships and gained experiences that have greatly shaped my career. I am truly grateful for everything these communities have done to support and influence my path.
