We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Bolton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
There’s so many directions this question could go in regards to my answers. I’ll give just a few. I was interested in skincare for more than 10 years before I actually took the step to get trained and educated. When addressing “risk”, I was miserable in a particular time in my life and where I was on my life path. I made the decision to go to school one day, signed up and started class 3 days later. It was one of those impulse risks that I knew was right in my gut. Perhaps maybe the decision looked risky and unprepared on the outside, but I knew it was my inner self nudging me toward my path. Risky? Perhaps. The right risk? 100%. One of the best decisions I ever made.

In regards to a life risk? I’ve walked away from friendships, relationships and other situations and experiences that weren’t healthy for me. Were some of these scenarios the easier decision had I stayed, yes. But ultimately the highest and most fulfilling? No.
It has been a risk to follow my true North, and stay true to my spirit because according to society, I am fully going against the grain in certain areas. Choosing my right true path has sometimes felt so risky, but the risk always came with the purest peace. That’s perhaps a marker for knowing good risk from irresponsible risk. The peace factor.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a skin therapist (facialist, esthetician, skin coach). I answer to all of the above. I love connecting the dots and researching for clearer understanding on the condition of my clients skin. Having been a personal trainer for almost a decade, I really took a deep dive into nutrition and the functions of the body. When I got into skincare it was a no brainer to apply the same principles of the body to the overall health of the skin. it. Is. All. Connected.

I’m grateful that I get to embrace skincare with a multi-pronged approach. I get to treat the skin from many different angles.

What I hold most dear in my brand and in my practice is my clients’ trust. We develop a strong communicative relationship where we work together and along with the results, gaining and keeping their trust is my greatest accomplishment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bff came to LA, we would definitely head straight to the Southbay. The coast and the sand is it for me. So many years I was in the Hustle Bustle of amazing West Hollywood, but now give me zen and the water.

We would go to Izakaya in Mahattan Beach, we would roller blade or bike the path from Marina to Redondo Beach then catch the cotton candy sunset overlooking the ocean. Nothing better.

If my bff came to Dallas, I’d task my sister, Tiffany Hendra, with making plans and playing concierge as she is fully in the know. Dallas has amazing eats, and anywhere Aaron Hendra is playing we will be there!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe in life we are called to do the inner work. Some of us answer the call and some do not. And there is no right or wrong. For me, I have felt such richness in investigating my inner workings and it has lead to so much joy in just getting to know myself (not to mention messy and painful as hell sometimes too). I don’t think as children we are ever blatantly encouraged or taught to really, truly get to know ourselves. I stumbled upon that need accidentally, I think.

Some mentors/books/people that have helped me along the way…”Man’s Search For Meaning” by Viktor Frankl IS A MUST READ, Period.
Khalil Gibran
Marianne Williamson
Florence Scovel Shinn

Tony Robbins pulled me through an excruciating period and then when I got to meet him years later, it was just a magical full circle life moment.

We are so blessed in this day and age with tech. Podcasts, social, online programs that really offer a collapse in time in regards to healing. It doesn’t have to take entire lifetimes anymore.

My mom and sister have been pillars for me. Because they intimately know particular challenges, they are able to speak life in such a way where I really feel seen.

And women everyday, my clients never cease to blind me with their brilliance. I’m surrounded by greatness daily.
