We had the good fortune of connecting with Nara Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nara, what makes you happy? Why?
Being able to do hair makes me beyond happy. It doesn’t feel like a job. Which makes my days go by super fast, I love being able to wake up and not hate going to work like I used to when I was younger. It’s not just a job to me it’s a passion I’m in love with what I do for a living.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m very proud of how far I’ve come as a stylist in such little time & being able to have the clientele I have today. It wasn’t very easy for me going to cosmetology school it was a rough year and a half since I was moving to a different city and trying to adjust myself. I went through heartbreak, was in a car accident, lost a loved one it was a rough year but I was able to overcome everything & graduate Paul Mitchell the School of Arlington. My motivational quote that helped me a lot was “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week long trip in Dallas would be a blast! I would take them to go eat at The Cheesecake Factory or Pluckers my two favorite restaurants! To go have a drink I would take them to the tipsy oak in Arlington! They have such a cute patio to eat outside! Or to texas live to watch a game & have a few drinks! I loved shopping at the Highlands in Arlington they have such a cute shopping center or the outlets in Grand Prairie! I would definitely go to Top golf, or go to the stockyards in Fort Worth! There’s just so much to do in the DFW area!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my mom she wasn’t all on board when I first wanted to go to cosmetology school, but she was very supportive of me in the end and is my number one supporter! I also would like to thank my bestfriends from cosmetology school Jalia Evans, Marlenn Martinez, Isabel Soto, Valerie Morales, they were all such a huge support while going to school together in Dallas. They stuck by my side through it all. I would lastly like to give some credit to my bestfriends here from Odessa, Isabel & Jessica. They are the most supportive friends I can have & push me to be the best I can be!
