Meet Miriam Cordova | Vivid/Alt Hairapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miriam Cordova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miriam, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I realize after my time in the Army that I wasn’t meant to be put in a box. That being able to explores yourself is okay. My favorite kind of hair is to do Vivid/Alt hair, I love to get a chance to be creative with hair create different illusions and big transformation. I love and love for creative hair and makeup.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I got into hair I didn’t think much of it and I was doing it to get a licensing and make money. That was my mindset when I went into it slowly it grew on my and realized hair and makeup was a passion. I had alway been the friend to get all the girls ready for prom and homecoming. While I lived in base in Virginia I use to do eyebrows, manicures and men’s cuts during Covid. They guys still needed haircuts and barbershops were closed, the girls would like to get their eyebrows and nails done before graduation and salons were closed I saw something I would bring to the table and a profit to be maid.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would have to check out Gloria’s Latin cuisine but the one in Rockwall on the harbor after food walk around the harbor. If it’s your lucky day we can ride the tiki bar around the harbor and enjoy some vibes. Perry’s stake house is great place to dine and see the whole city amazing at night since you get to see all of Dallas beautiful lights. Jaw dropping streak and family size sides. Would absolutely have to check out the Katie trail and take a walk there plenty of place around there to grab a bite as well. You will see many people walking running on bikes with their dogs especially in the spring. Another place to check out spring time is the arboretum as all the flower will be just blooming and at their most beautiful bring a picnic basket and have a nice little lunch there. Lastly would have to recommend the reunion tower the restaurant is stupendous from the way they great you to how delectable the food is.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big big thank you to my parents I wouldn’t be here without them physically and methodically. They are both my biggest supporters event when it don’t feel that way. They have seen all the up and down I have taken myself and as I build my business. My Dad was my very first haircut in school years ago and but he wore it proud and I’ll tell you it wasn’t the greatest haircut but it has definitely gotten so much better. Thank you to Ms Kim you really made a difference when it came to me getting my license you really made the lesson stick. Had a way of teaching that just made sense and thank you for being hard on us too made us better for it.
