Meet Mercy Ameyaw | Executive Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mercy Ameyaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mercy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was God ordained and very deeply rooted in my desire to honor God by impacting lives in a meaningful way. I’ve always had a love and affinity for working with women, and it seemed like they also drew to me. Couple that with a realization that something of this sort would be helpful within our community that wasn’t tied to a specific denomination made me realize this was what God was calling us to do. I’ve always believed in the transformative power of my Christian faith, community, and empowerment, especially for women. Where else to look to but the Bible for inspiration and immediately, the Proverbs 31 passage stood out as a guide: her strength, wisdom, compassion, and ability to influence her household and community.
And the question came, How can we create something that helps women embody these qualities in every aspect of their lives — spiritually, physically, and emotionally?
It wasn’t just about starting a organization; it was about creating a platform where women could feel seen, supported, and equipped to make an impact to the glory of God. We wanted to provide resources, mentorship, and experiences that point women back to our source, God, while also helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities in their personal and professional lives.
At the heart of it all God has called us to do this. He gave a serious conviction and we trust that with this conviction comes provision of the Holy Spirit to guide us to walk fully in His plan.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a professional, I am a Registered Nurse, Executive Director at the Proverbs 31 Project, Licensed Financial Professional, and Digital Business Owner. My career has been a journey of faith, purpose, and persistence. What sets me apart is the heart behind everything I do—my desire to glorify God. At the heart of every role that I do, I ask God to use me as a conduit to help the people that I encounter grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically to His glory. Through the Proverbs 31 Project, I’ve been able to combine my love for ministry, community building, and personal development into a mission that inspires and equips women to embody the character of the Proverbs 31 woman.
I’m most proud of the impact we’ve had in such a short time. Seeing women step into their God-given purpose, grow in faith, and transform their families and communities fills me with gratitude and excitement. It’s humbling to witness how God is using us for His glory.
The journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy, and we know there is still much more to go. It’s required stepping out in faith, trusting God’s timing, and persevering through challenges. Like most, I’ve personally faced moments of self-doubt, the organization faces financial obstacles, and the occasional fear of failure. But each time, we lean on the promises of God and keep our focus on the “why” behind the work. Every obstacle became an opportunity to grow in faith, resilience, and creativity.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that obedience to God’s call doesn’t always mean the path will be smooth—but it’s always worth it. I’ve also learned the importance of collaboration, humility, networking, and celebrating small victories along the way.
What I want the world to know about us and our brand is that it’s all about glorifying God. We work on ourselves in Christ, and in doing so, our lives bear fruit for others to see the goodness of God. The Proverbs 31 Project is not just an organization—it’s a movement to help women live with purpose, integrity, and faith. It’s about creating a ripple effect where one empowered, Christ-centered woman can impact her family, community, and beyond. My prayer is that this work will continue to inspire others to walk boldly in their faith and calling.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This sounds lovely! If my friend were visiting the area, I’d want to make sure they had an amazing time. I’d start by giving them a couple of breakfast options, like Salt & Pepper on Lincoln Street or Altea’s Eatery—both fantastic spots. Ideally, they’d visit in the summer, so we could take a day trip to Boston and explore all the incredible landmarks the city has to offer.
We could kick things off with a Duck Tour, which is always a fun way to experience Boston both on land and water. Another option would be a Boston Harbor Cruise. Whether we make it a casual outing or an elegant experience, it’s always a memorable time. One of the days, we’d visit the Prudential Center to enjoy the stunning city skyline and soak in Boston’s beauty.
For dinner, we’d have a couple of great choices. We could stay in Boston and enjoy a fabulous meal at The Capital Grille, or head back to Worcester to savor delicious Ghanaian cuisine at one of the many wonderful Ghanaian restaurants in the area. Either way, it would be a perfect way to cap off the day!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the board members and volunteers who have been instrumental in helping us launch this non-profit organization. Your unwavering dedication, countless hours, personal investments, and emotional support have been the backbone of our efforts. While we are still working toward many of our long-term goals, the progress we’ve made over the past eight months has been nothing short of remarkable.
Thank you for answering the call to serve and for bringing your unique talents and hearts to this mission. I am deeply grateful for each of you and excited to see how God will continue to work through us to accomplish His plans for this organization. Together, may we bring glory to His name in all that we do in the years to come.
