Meet Mayra Calvillo Azide | Small Business Insurance Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mayra Calvillo Azide and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mayra, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk is part of growth. Leaving a stable job to start my own business was scary, but I knew if I wanted bigger results, I had to step out. Every move I make is calculated-I plan, I prepare, I pray, and then I take action. Risks have shaped my life and my business, because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Mayra Calvillo-Azide. Alongside my husband, George, I co-own The Agent’s Office®. We are building a lasting family legacy through a Kingdom-driven agency, where every decision is grounded in biblical principles and carried out with integrity, faith, and service.
What sets us apart is that we’re a one-stop shop for personal, commercial, and life insurance, helping families and business owners protect what matters most, with clarity, honesty, and heart. I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built and the impact we’ve made—saving families money, helping businesses grow safely, and guiding people toward confident financial decisions.
Getting here wasn’t easy. We faced challenges, doubts, and long hours, but through prayer, perseverance, and the support of each other and our family, we’ve kept pushing forward. Along the way, I’ve learned that serving well, showing up consistently, and keeping God at the center is the key to lasting success.
What I want the world to know about us is simple: The Agent’s Office is here to serve, protect, and guide our clients. Every policy we write is an opportunity to make a real difference—and that’s what drives us every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them Dallas the way I live it. We’d start our mornings at home with huevos rancheros, papas, refried beans, and fresh flour tortillas—my favorite breakfast to fuel the day. Then we would hit all the family-friendly spots—the Dallas Zoo, the Aquarium, or wherever my girls love to explore. And of course, tacos—I would take them to El Pinoccho in East Dallas, or El Trompo Loco in Pleasant Grove. For dinner, it’s always Mexican food—Cuquitas for casual comfort or Javier’s on Cole Avenue for a special night out.
I’d make sure we experience what makes Dallas unique walking through Traders Village, exploring murals in Deep Ellum, checking out local events, and enjoying live music or food trucks at Klyde Warren Park. And if it’s the season, the State Fair of Texas is a must—rides, games, and all the classic fair food you can imagine.
And of course, we would catch a game—Mavs, Rangers, or Cowboys. You can’t come to Dallas and not feel the energy of our hometown teams!
We would mix in fun, adventure, and a little relaxation—TopGolf, White Rock Lake, or shopping at NorthPark. But really, it would not just be about seeing the city. It would be about experiencing Dallas through my eyes—the food, the culture, the family moments, and the things that have shaped me. By the end of the week, my friend would see why I love this city so much and get a glimpse into my life as a Dallas native, a mom, and someone building her dreams with faith and purpose every day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to GOD. He’s the one who gave me the vision, the strength, and the guidance to walk this journey. Every step I’ve taken, every challenge I’ve overcome, every success I’ve achieved is because of His wisdom and faithfulness.
I want to give a huge shoutout to my husband, George-he’s been my partner in every sense, not just in life, but in business. From brainstorming ideas to late-night planning sessions, he’s always had my back and pushed me to go bigger that I thought possible.
My daughters, who are my daily inspiration. They remind me why I work so hard and why I do what I do: to create a legacy of faith, purpose, and perseverance.
I want to recognize my family, especially my parents, who taught me the value of hard work, faith, and integrity. Their guidance shaped my work ethic and my desire to serve others.
A very special shoutout goes to my mentor, Earl F Gordon. He showed me my true potential and guided me through becoming a business owner myself. His wisdom, encouragement, and example of leadership have been instrumental in shaping the way I approach my agency and my career.
And finally, my community-the clients, referrals, and friends who trust me with their families and businesses. You inspire me every day to do better, grow smarter, and serve more faithfully.
I feel so blessed to have God and such an incredible support system walking this journey with me.
