We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyndsey Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lyndsey, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Ah, work/ life balance. That elusive thing we all chase. When I purchased Neat Method Frisco it was already a fully functioning and established market. There was no time for me to just ease into things. I was tossed directly into the deep end! Finding balance was something that I really struggled with in the beginning. It was a busy time of year and I was just starting out so I booked my schedule as full as it could get. I never wanted to turn any business away. In addition to the actual organizing projects, I was trying to figure out every other aspect of the business. It completely consumed my every thought and action. I quickly realized that if I kept the current pace I was setting, I would be completely burned out. If I was going to be successful, I had to take a small step back and relax a bit. I started limiting the number of projects I took on per week so I would have time for office days. I wasn’t ready to outsource any of these things yet so I had to figure out a good balance for myself so I would have time to do everything! I also only check my email once per day on the weekend. It’s hard but I know that I’m better off if I give myself time to step back and recharge.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What haven’t I done? Figuring out a career path for myself has always been something I struggled with. I was never the girl that knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up! I enjoyed most of my jobs for a time but always knew that they didn’t fulfill me in the way I thought they should. It wasn’t until I joined Neat Method that I started to feel like this is what I’m supposed to be doing. I think my past roles in management, product design, and operations gave me the perfect set of skills to be a successful Neat owner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Frisco is an ever-growing city with countless things to do and see! We would definitely start with my favorite thing to do… SHOPPING! I love to stroll downtown Frisco and visit all of the cute boutiques and small businesses, Then, if we were looking for something a bit more luxurious, we would head to Legacy West. This is a newly developed outdoor shopping strip filled to the brim with designer wares. We would then move on to my second favorite thing. EATING! My favorite restaurant in Frisco is Platia. It’s a small mom-and-pop-style Greek restaurant with the best Gyro you will ever have! Finally, since we’re in Dallas Cowboy land. It would only be appropriate to finish the day with a tour of their beautiful new practice stadium, The Star.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to credit my friend Valerie Wood for pushing me to purchase Neat Method Frisco. Working for myself had always been a small dream of mine and she really encouraged me to take the leap!
I also have to credit my husband Mark for assuming the role of accountant and occasional delivery driver!
