We had the good fortune of connecting with Linsi Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linsi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business came from my desire to want to make women feel beautiful and empowered. As a portrait photographer, I believe I hold a great deal of power in creating someone’s likeness and I am very passionate about that. I have personally struggled with insecurities around beauty, so the idea of being able to make someone feel beautiful and translate that through a photograph really appealed to me. I want to give clients an unforgettable experience and magazine worthy photographs, so I decided to combine my background in fashion photography with portraiture to create something unique. I want every client to feel like a model or a celebrity for the day. Each portrait session is tailored to the client and is complete with hair, makeup, mood boards, and wardrobe. My joy comes from seeing a woman light up when she sees herself in my photographs and falls in love with her portraits.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited about the future and for all the opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to learning, creating, networking, and growing.
The biggest lessons I have learned on my journey so far are self-value and gratitude. You must believe in yourself first and foremost. I have also learned that being grateful for all things, big and small, can better one’s perspective and motivate you through even the hardest of times.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If someone were to visit South Florida, I would say to visit the beaches during sunset and sunrise. I know how cliche that sounds, but it really is a magical experience. Also, if you love ice cream, I suggest going to Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor in Dania Beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother, sister, and grandmother are really the backbone of my business. They give me confidence, love, and never-ending support to pursue my dreams. It is because of them that I am dedicated to creating a successful business that empowers women and showcases their beauty and strength.
