Hi Linda, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always found people endlessly fascinating, especially in the way moments and memories weave through their lives. My journey into photography began with a simple act: capturing snapshots of me and my friend. Over the years, our shared folder became a treasure trove, spanning more than a decade of memories. In those images, you could trace the evolution of our faces and bodies, the shifting hues of our hair, and even the ebb and flow of our tastes and trends. But beyond mere aesthetics, those photographs were time capsules, preserving the laughter, the tears, and the sheer joy of our shared experiences. And so, my love for photography was born—not just as an art form but as a deeply personal journey through the moments that shape us.

As I embarked on my journey through photography, I felt a deep-seated urge to share the gift of capturing moments in time with those around me. There’s a profound beauty in freezing a fleeting moment—a split second—that will never unfold in quite the same way again. Even if we were to replicate the exact sequence of events, the essence of that moment would remain elusive, slipping through our grasp like water through clenched fingers.

That’s the paradoxical allure of photography: the ability to immortalize the ephemeral and preserve the transient beauty that flits across our lives like a wisp of smoke. With each click of the shutter, I sought to encapsulate not just the physicality of a scene but the intangible essence that imbued it with meaning. I believe that each of us possesses a unique artistic essence, whether we realize it or not. Life itself is a canvas, and every action, no matter how seemingly mundane, contributes to the masterpiece of our existence.

As for my journey into photography, it’s been a testament to the transformative power of dedication and perseverance. I’ve navigated the winding path of hard work and dedication, embracing each challenge as an opportunity for growth. Waking up each day with a renewed commitment to my craft, immersing myself in photography-related fields, and enduring the inevitable setbacks along the way – all of these are hallmarks of my unwavering passion and determination.

Receiving more “no’s” than “yeses” can be disheartening, but my resilience in the face of adversity is something I take pride in. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown possesses an undeniable allure, an enchanting amalgamation of history and modernity that imbues the area with a distinct charm. Walking through its bustling streets, one is enveloped in a tapestry woven with threads of the past and present, each contributing to the vibrant mosaic of urban life.

At its heart lies a palpable sense of history, with echoes of bygone eras reverberating through its cobblestone alleys and architectural marvels. Here, amidst the timeless facades of historic buildings and landmarks, one can glimpse the rich tapestry of a city’s heritage. From grandiose monuments to quaint cobblestone streets, every corner holds a story waiting to be told, inviting exploration and discovery.

Yet, juxtaposed against this backdrop of tradition, Downtown pulses with the energy of modernity. Skyscrapers tower overhead, their sleek glass facades reflecting the dynamic rhythm of urban life below. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my life, two individuals have wielded significant influence, and foremost among them is my parents Despite their initial reservations about my passion for photography and their uncertainty about whether it was a viable career path, they remained a steadfast pillar of support. Even when they couldn’t quite grasp the allure of capturing moments frozen in time, her unwavering belief in my dreams propelled me forward.

I’ll never forget the day they helped me acquire my very first camera. It wasn’t just a gift; it was a tangible manifestation of their faith in my abilities.

Looking back, I realize that my parents’ influence extends far beyond the simple act of gifting me a camera; it permeates every frame I capture, infusing my work with a sense of purpose and authenticity. They may not have envisioned photography as my chosen path, but their unwavering support has been the cornerstone of my journey, shaping me into the photographer – and the person – I am today.

Another significant figure in my journey to success is my partner. His unwavering presence, brimming with ideas and support, has been instrumental in my endeavors. Beyond merely offering guidance in photography, he extends his wisdom to all facets of life, serving as a beacon of inspiration and encouragement.

His invaluable advice transcends the realm of photography, encompassing broader life lessons and perspectives. Whether navigating creative challenges or grappling with personal dilemmas, my partner’s insights have proven invaluable, shaping not only my photographic pursuits but also my growth as an individual.
