We had the good fortune of connecting with Lance Bertrand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lance, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At my previous occupation, I was the in office IT Technician. After witnessing a third party come in and take staging photos and videos, I knew that things were getting really bad (I knew that the company I worked for was already in trouble financially). A few days later, I realized that I had never prayed about when it was time to take that step and start my business. God had shown me years ago that it was in His plans for me to be an entrepreneur, I just never consulted Him on when. Well, the next morning, during a Sunday service zoom call, He spoke to me clearly and said that it was time.

What should our readers know about your business?
Excellence IT is a serviced based business that provides onsite IT repair and support, TV mounting and smart home services (video doorbells, security cameras, thermostats, etc). What sets me apart from others is my unwillingness to compromise on my faith on the clock. While I’m not entering people’s homes or places of business “preaching Jesus” to them, I do display my faith through my punctuality and my treatment toward them. I do my best to give them great customer service and a finished product that makes them say “wow, perfect!”. I got to where I am today in business because I’ve kept God at the foundation and because of that my business has stayed successful. It has not been hard at all. The Word tells us that the blessing of the Lord makes you rich and adds no toil with it. I’ve definitely run into some challenges, nevertheless, they have been overcome with just doing a little bit of research while onsite. Jesus is at the center of my brand. It is called Excellence IT because that’s the name Holy Spirit gave me for my business and it’s derived from 3 scriptures, Daniel 6:3, Genesis 1:26, and 1 Cor 10:31. It is because I keep Him at the center, that this business will continue to flourish as long as it is supposed to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to get my wife’s help because I’m not that person lol. I do not have enough things that I could keep him occupied for a whole week, that’s a lot of time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jesus and my wife. 1st Jesus, because without that foundation, I’m not in this position, keep it simple. Secondly my wife, because I know she’s prayed for this day multiple times and because of her, I know God has thrown extra favor my way.
