We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Hawkinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by people that start moving and feel the results. Their health and well-being improve causing them to feel accomplished. They feel accomplished so they keep going on their health and fitness journey. They develop sustainable healthy nutritional habits and then make fitness a true lifestyle. Then they truly understand and feel all the positive effects that movement brings! This. This cycle inspires me!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I had the vision and courage to take my personal training business to the next level In 2018. I lead online Fitness and Nutritional Challenges 3-4x a year. These allow me to reach hundreds of women a year to get them moving and seeing fitness as fun, rewarding and as the gateway to improving their health.

My online business is based 100% on my videos. I keep classes fun, real, authentic and doable for all levels. I create targeted 14 and 30-day programs. I do customized 90-day programs. And I have a great community of DIY members. DIY is a $25/month membership that gives you access to my 400+ videos. – My videos range from HIIT and strength training to Pilates and yoga. – To make it easy breezy, I even have a Facebook page where I post workouts 5 days a week. Members can comment on the workouts to create a layer of accountability with themselves AND me! It has grown into a wonderful community over the last 12 months! I love staying in touch with all of my online clients and encouraging them to keep going!

Lessons. Wow. So many. Be flexible. Be open. Be ready to pivot. Take calculated risks. Don’t take things personal. I want people to know that fitness doesn’t have to be scary and intimidating. I help clients find what works for them. I want my clients to have fun. If they are it having fun, the program isn’t sustainable. We want the program to be sustainable in order to be consistent. Consistency = Results. Results bring a sense of accomplishment and confidence. Those feelings keep people going. This cycle is my passion!! And i want to help as many people as I can reach this level in their fitness journey!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being an active person, we would paddle board at White Rock Lake, walk the Katy trail to hang out at the Katy Trail Icehouse to eat, drink and people watch. We’d conquer the bleachers at SMU then hit up Chelsea Corner on the way home. We’d spend an afternoon at the Arboretum before the Cool Thursday Concert. We’d hit up a concert at Dos Equis Pavilion and a Mavs game at the AA center after dinner at Meso Maya. We’d enjoy a nice dinner at Savor before strolling around Klyde Warren Park. An evening for live music at the Rustic would also be on the agenda.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My in-person training clients. They inspire me everyday. They made me crave reaching more people which prompted the start of TrainerKristen.com.
