Hi Kristal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Let me take you on a journey through my life, where twists, turns, and a whole lot of determination brought me to where I am today.
Picture this: a young girl with big dreams of becoming a labor & delivery nurse, absolutely enamored with science. That was me. But life had its own plans, and at 19, I became a mom to three beautiful kids. Did that stop me from pursuing my dreams? Not a chance.
I started as a medical assistant, soaking up every bit of knowledge I could while juggling motherhood and work. But financial struggles led me down a different path, landing me in the automotive industry. Crazy, right? But hey, a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do.
Even though I was knee-deep in car parts and invoices, my passion for skincare and beauty never faded. I kept learning, kept hustling, all while raising my kids solo. And then something amazing happened. My kids started showing an interest in nails and lashes, sparking an idea in me.
I took a leap of faith and started Keha Couture Beauty from my own home, working day and night while still holding down two jobs. It wasn’t easy, but seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces made every sacrifi ce worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Beauty Enthusiast, my passion lies in body sculpting, empowering others to embrace confidence in their own skin. From a young age, my fascination with the medical and scientific realms has been unwavering. The journey to where I stand today has been marked by challenges, yet I persevere. Amidst obstacles, I hold onto faith, pushing forward and seeking guidance. Negativity has never deterred my path. Each day brings new knowledge, enriching my understanding of body sculpting, anatomy, and physiology. My holistic approach extends beyond body sculpting to encompass skincare and nutrition, personalized to each client’s unique needs. Keha Couture Beauty embodies not just my personal journey, but also the individuals I serve with unwavering dedication.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a Dallas native, I’m fortunate to have a plethora of favorite spots around town. Exploring new brunch spots is a cherished pastime of mine, particularly in downtown Dallas where the skyline adds to the ambiance. When showing my best friend around, I’d make sure to visit iconic landmarks like the Union Tower and perhaps take a tour of the Cowboys Stadium, especially if there isn’t a game to catch. Another must-visit spot would be Texas Live at the Rangers Stadium. Of course, spending quality time with family and friends would be a top priority during our adventures.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Credit for my story belongs to a select few: my children and my mother. They’ve provided unwavering support, keeping me resilient on this journey. Every hustle, every perseverance—it’s all for my children. Beyond that, it’s about proving that dreams are attainable, never surrendering to doubt. And my mother? She’s been a constant pillar, tirelessly supporting both me and my children in every possible way.
