We had the good fortune of connecting with Khetsanah K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khetsanah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
What is the thought process behind starting your own business?

Growing up around many Asian Americans my answer was always a career in the medical field, but as I grew older I quickly learned that was not something I wanted to do. I wanted something that would be fulfilling and rewarding afterwards, which led me towards a career path in beauty. During my teenage years Youtube makeup gurus were a huge thing, I believe this inspired me the most. Watching influencers online making videos/post and making a difference in people’s lives. I wanted a part of that too. To do something that truly touches peoples hearts and boost their confidence. That’s when I found out about being an esthetician, a person who not only provides services but someone more than that. A person you could always confide in having a safe space to be vulnerable or lay in complete silence. After each service I am truly in awe of how much sparkle and confidence I can give back to each of my clients that is something I aim for everytime.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is the great customer service I provide. Making sure I state my policies, being personable, and understanding when there are bumps in the road or cancellations/no shows. Also just checking in with clients after their service is completed. The relationships I built with my clients along the way, we’ve built friendships over the years. Learning about their lives and hearing about their day to day experiences, overall connecting and having genuine conversations. I love hearing that clients are spreading the word through referrals. I want everyone to know that although I am representing my brand I am still a human with a life outside of work and I will always try my best to respond in a timely manner.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge foodie I love exploring and trying new foods but of course since my friends are visiting from out of town I would have to take them to my staple restaurants. We would start off with lunch at Hatsuyaki they have the best sushi in town and then we would have a couple drinks on 7th street exploring the bars and end our night off with having the best ramen at Wabi House.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to personally thank my husband, family and friends for their support and belief of me. My husband has always been in my corner cheering me on even through the toughest times. My mom and aunts for always volunteering to be the firsts to have services done by me giving me constructive criticism. Their emotional and financial support was vital to building my career. The love and support from family and friends has played a significant role in my journey.
