We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenna Ramos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenna, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?

Education doesn’t stop once you finish your Esthetics course and get your license, it’s actually just beginning. This career requires a lot of proactive continued education due to the continual changes in the industry. We have to be up to date on the latest and greatest technologies and trends. There is a lot of science behind skincare, it’s a $500 billion industry, and with more consumers being better informed about skincare, and the demand for results driven products and services, it requires more knowledge and education in order to deliver the best and most appropriate skincare to my guests, so they can achieve the results they desire.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

There are many things that set me apart. The biggest being that I love to educate my guests. Education helps my guests understand my recommendations and allows them to make an educated decision versus being pushed or convinced of the need for a service or product. My goal is to get you to relax during your service, while I get to work and get you the results! If I can get my guest so relaxed during service that they fall asleep, then half of my job is done!

I’m also a very realistic Esthetician, I always make recommendations that are most appropriate for your needs and lifestyle, and it doesn’t have to take tons of time or be overly expensive.

I have been in this industry for over 15 years and have held every position in a spa, including management, training, and in the treatment room. All of these positions have contributed to me becoming a well rounded owner/operator.

My mission is to encourage nourishment of the body and mind as part of your lifestyle through my results driven services, products and other resources. As well as, give every guest a personalized luxurious experience with relaxation. Self care should be part of your lifestyle, not just the occasional luxury.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I’ve lived in the metroplex all my life. I grew up in Arlington and remember going to Six Flags, and Wet N’ Wild, before it was Hurricane Harbor, so we’d definitely need to hit those spots, as well as Cowboys AT&T Stadium, because, “How bout them Cowboys!” (Cowboys fan of course!) Also, a trip to DFW wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards, nothing says Texas like Longhorns walking through the streets, watching cowboy hat artisans, and shopping for a pair of REAL cowboy boots! Speaking of shopping, NorthPark is well worth the visit and then stopping for a little Italian at Eataly. Monarch is another great new restaurant for a more upscale experience, and staying at The Joule for that downtown Dallas experience. We have lots of great places to visit but the biggest thing I hear people say about Dallas is, there’s a lot of eating and shopping to do here! I’d have to agree!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

First and foremost my guests deserve the majority of credit for my success. Without them, I wouldn’t have my business, their support and encouragement over the years has continued to keep me passionate about giving them the best experience every time they see me. I was also very fortunate to have a great mentor for many years, Liz Elsea, who taught me so much, in business management and in the spa. I also owe a lot of credit to my husband, he encouraged me to have the confidence that I would succeed when I decided to start my own spa business. He continues to support me and offer practical business advice. My family and friends are also always very supportive and encouraging too.
