Meet Kendall Vivian Butler | Laboratory Supervisor at JPS hospital & Western Fashion model & Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall Vivian Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendall Vivian, why did you pursue a creative career?

I have always been over the moon infatuated with all things art, crafty, and fashion, it gives me a way to express myself in any form at any moment without having to even use words.

Fashion is my passion but when it comes to Western fashion, now that is my love language! It is a way I express myself. However, as a health care professional, my uniform 5 + days a week is Caribbean Blue Scrubs. So when I get to toss these to the side and express myself and be my own person it is truly a freeing moment to no longer be seen only as a color coded uniform in a hospital full of people but as the person you thrive to be and want to be seen as.

This is where my western fashion, modeling and business interests come into play and I step a foot outside of the hospital

Where to start…
Medical Career wise: It is a tough industry and it is not for the weak stomached, thin skin or someone without a constant drive.

Western fashion, this is a career I am pursing and not as much a hobby any longer. I have grown so much in the last year. I have gotten to meet some of my best friends because of this industry.

I truly started out by just dressing and styling items the way I wanted. People always made comments, both good and not so good about my choice of style but it was perfectly ME.

Growing up on a farm, hunting and  competing in Chuck Wagon cook offs as a family and so many other things in life made my love for western fashion grow and it truly continues to grow.

It is the people, the passion, the style and the morals we all stand for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Oooo now this is my other love language. Haha

First I would recommend that they come down on a weekend where my parents and I have a Chuck Wagon cook off, and yes,  you did read that correctly.
We have 5 authentic Chuck Wagons from different eras. They are authentic all the way down to the moonshine that sits in the ‘lid’ of the wagon.

My family and I  travel all over for competitions for both the wagon and cooking. (10x national champs & 3X world champs)
Did I mention my parents are chefs?

So of course, they would have to go to a competition if they had never been cause they are just incredible to watch, listen and eat till you can’t no more. haha

The rodeo is typically not far from this competitions so we would hop on over to the rodeo, do some shopping at the local shops.

Stockyards in Fort Worth is a must.
Go grab a drink and walk about The Dover Hotel.
Check out the shops down town, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Watch the longhorns do their daily walk through the streets.
Got to get a new hat @ the best hat store while we are down there.
Grab another drink at the truck yard and hangout and pick one of the many places to eat while there.
Then end the day with a big scope of homemade ice cream from Melt ice cream shop.

Man, now I feel like I need a full day to go wonder around and eat, drink, shop! Who’s with me?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom, she has overcome so many things in her life way more than most people could even imagine and she did it while raising four kids. She has always taught us to follow our dreams, work hard then keep working harder to get where we want to be in life. I thrive to be half  the women she is.

Next would be the companies and brands that took a chance on me when I was just starting out. I would not be where I am today if you all did not see something in me to give me a chance in this industry. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
