We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherine Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katherine, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
At the beginning of my journey balance played a big encounter in my life. When starting up my business, I had to think about my daughter and how my progress would affect time with her. I had to create a plan with my family to help me balance mom life and business woman life. With that plan, I am able to fully focus on my business while my family helps out with my daughter so I can challenge myself with creativity and continue to grow as a entrepreneur.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kreations by KathyC all started with an idea on how to be creative and how to provide for my family. Looking back at Fall of 2019 when I first started and to where I am now, I can honestly say I’ve grown in many ways and I am so excited to see what the next years will be. Along the way, I had to sacrifice time with my family at the beginning of my journey because I was just starting off. Now I have a system in place to where I can fully dedicate time to family and Kreations by KathyC to make everything work. I’ve learned that building relationships with clients are very important because they are the reason why I am where I am today. I put all my energy to deliver excellent service and answer any questions my clients have during the process of working together. If new clients are needing guidance or have any questions on what ideas or inspiration they may have, I am here to help you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ahh, so many choices!

Friday’s Plan: Go get a pedicure at Red Nails in Mesquite and dinner within the Town East area.

Saturday’s Plan: Grab dinner at Jalisco Norte they have the best cowboy queso!

Sunday’s Itinerary: BRUNCH!! My favorite spot for brunch is Jonathons in Oakcliff (if you plan on visting, aim to go early to avoid rush time.) After brunch, go grab some cocktails at Vidorra in Addison for sunday funday!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the support of my family. I am blessed to know that they will always be there when I need them. Another person I can give a shout out to is Victoria, who is the owner of Petite Seating that also serves the DFW metroplex. At the beginning of my career, she would share any balloon tips and tricks I would need along the way to improve my styling of balloons. I am grateful for Victoria and all the advice she gives.
