We had the good fortune of connecting with Kassi Jaroszewski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kassi, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas A. Edison. We love this quote because it’s spot on. Success looks easy to some – but it takes guts, grit & determination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a licensed Realtor in the state of Texas for 18 years now and a licensed broker for over a decade. Kustom Real Estate opened its doors over 7 years ago and while I was scared, I also remembered that most people starting a business have never done it before. Yet that high risk yielded a high reward and I’m proud to own one of the few “mom and pop” real estate companies still around. I previously worked under 3 other brokerages to which I accredit the establishment of my self-discipline and skill set needed to stay afloat in this super competitive, ever growing industry. One of my mentors, Earl Sparrow, taught me if I expected greatness out of this endeavor, I had to give it greatness as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our community has an infinite array of fun to offer anyone from 1 to 100. I love to kayak the Guadalupe – pack a cooler of the essentials, launch up river, float down to one of the crossings complimentary of my father’s river outfitter business, RRC – River Road Camp Rentals. This is one of the ways I disconnect from the daily grind and plug into not only my family but also my own tranquility. We post up on the cliffs along the river for lunch and it’s such a breath of fresh air. Whatever the weather, I can also be spotted at one of my favorite restaurants; Huisache Grill or Gruene River Grill, sipping Austin Hopes red wine or a Mexican Martini. Same with the outdoors, as I never miss a chance to get out from under a roof. We frequent Bar J Day Hunts in Kingsbury, TX, for fishing, campfires and camaraderie on the regular, and even some hunting when in season. When I’m not waltzing across state lines w/ my gypsy girlfriend, Christy Stransky, I frequent her amazing hot yoga studio – appropriately named Gypsy Waltz. So that I continue to be my husband’s girlfriend and account for what few marbles I may have left, I frequent FitnessLab CrossFit. Shut the world out, surround myself with some of the most unbelievably motivation crew, and celebrating having survived a hard workout. They leave me with a saying I’d like to leave you wish as well; get up, walk it off, and I’ll see you tomorrow. <fist bump>

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our Gracious God above. Hands down. Bar none. Barry and I have failed forward and fumbled in our company endeavors. But through His grace and guidance, we navigated the maze and kept the faith. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment was the further conviction that Barry and I are truly each other’s yin and yang. Our dreams are as big as the risks we take in every relentless pursuit to be better, in every possible way, today than we were yesterday. We falter and we fall down but we get back up and we learn. And through it all is the reminder that our union was no happenstance. Blessings from above continue in our family and businesses. How can two people be each other’s greatest skeptics and biggest cheerleaders? As graceful as slow dance, we build each other up but never hesitate to call one another out. How often we feel unworthy of God’s affection but we always give credit where it is due. Luck? Absolutely not. Blessings? Absolutely. Together, we have created 3 beautiful boys, built 6 self-employed businesses: Bar J Productions est 2003 Bar J Horse and Boarding Facility est 2000 Bar J Day Hunts est 2015 Bar J Granite est 2017 Tripp Lane Properties Est 2014 and last but certainly not least, Kustom Real Estate est 2014. As for our three boys, we never can remember their names until we have to shout them but being the frequent Amazon shopper that I am, name tags are on the way!
