We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaitlin Leahy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaitlin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always had a passion for the fashion industry. Creativity has just always been in my blood. Working in retail has always seemed to be a good mix of both using creative skills to merchandise and display products as well as get to create different pieces exclusively for my boutique. Being able to have my own store at such a young age was just the icing on the cake to be able to put my creative and artistic skills to work while having the career I always dreamed of pursuing.

What should our readers know about your business?
Simply Kate began as just a hometown girl dreaming of one day opening a store front. Little did I know that one day my BIG dreams would soon become my reality. I opened my store at the age of 19; fulfilling my passion for retail and determination to make my boutique stand out from all the rest. With trust in the Lord and lots of determination, Simply Kate opened in September 2014. Simply Kate offers not only a wide variety of jewelry, but also a huge selection of other products! From the trendiest of tops to the basic bottoms, we offer women many choices to fit their perfect style. And of course our popular super soft graphic tees are a MUST HAVE here at Simply Kate. I am so excited and proud to have a location here in the heart of downtown Rockwall, TX. Owning a store where I grew up has always been a dream of mine. The community has always been a huge support system and without their love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am at today.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown Rockwall offers such a wide variety of things to do and places to eat! The city provides such a unique experience and hometown feel to welcome customers from all over. There are so many restaurants in downtown that it is hard to choose one favorite among them! From coffee and breakfast to a savory dinner, you are always sure to find something of your choosing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Lord has blessed me in so many ways to have been able to pursue my dreams in opening up my own boutique. He has blessed me with such a great support system through family, friends, and my community! It is through Him that I am able to do what I love each and every day.
