Meet Julie Araujo | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Araujo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like you’ll never succeed if you don’t take a risk. Everything in life is a risk and you shouldn’t be scared to take it because that means a great chance of succeeding in anything you do. I took a huge risk on starting a new permanent jewelry business in my early 50’s. I’m so glad I did because I love it and succeeding is a great feeling. Of course it was scary but so worth it. Take the risk, succeed and love your life at any age.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Opening a business in such a niche market will either do great or flop due to so much saturation in the community. I set myself apart by understanding my clientele and my community. I allow myself to learn and develop my practice with every customer I fit with permanent jewelry. I make sure to have a price point that everybody can afford, it’s not just about profit. I’m proud of myself for taking a chance later in life than most people probably would. I’m not letting my age stop me from pursuing dreams of owning my own businesses and working for myself. Along with the permanent jewelry, I am a tattoo artist and a press on nail artist. So this is actually a 3rd business for me. I’m able to actually combine them all together and for me it’s so therapeutic. It’s chaotic and crazy at times but I love what I do. Doing nails, tattoos and jewelry allows me the freedom of working for myself. I’m also able to work out of one suite which makes it convenient and very a easy transition.
Giving my customers a variety of options. Believing in myself and having such great support will help me succeed in this business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas-Ft. Worth has so many things to offer visitors. Most definitely would take them to the Ft Worth stockyards with shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. A must have would be BBQ at world famous Hutchins BBQ. Night out in Deep Elum or a day trip, there is lots to see and experience there. ATT stadium “Home of the Dallas Cowboys” is a site to see and experience. There’s something for EVERYONE!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have the best support of friends and my daughters. Especially my daughter Frankee, her wisdom and patience is a Godsend. My love, Nick, who is always supportive and there to answer any of my questions with honesty and respect. Sierra, my special love, thank you for showing me unconditional love and strength. To my besties.. You are my sisters for life. I love all of you so much.
