We had the good fortune of connecting with Judah Agbonkhina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Judah, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson Suits For Judah has taught me is building Relationships. Relationships help you build Trust and Credibility, which you need. People are more likely to do business with you and recommend your services if they trust you and you’re credible. Relationships also help with Networking, Customer Loyalty and Problem Solving. Those Relationships with Partners, Suppliers and customers can be instrumental in resolving issues and challenges. Having a good rapport can even lead to smoother conflict resolution. Lastly Good Relationships can help you with Market insights, Innovation, Resource- Sharing, and synergy which all lead to Long Term Success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Judah Agbonkhina is a multimedia journalist, artivist, actor, director, and entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas. He is known for his work in the movies Heavy (2021), The Cure: The Ambiguity of Love (2022), Low Key Hustle (2020) and Washed The Series (2019). He has also performed for several Theater Companies and also working as Stage Manager in several productions across multiple genres. His work in the arts and his rough childhood inspired him to want to share his passion for Art and the change it brings with his community.

In 2018 Judah Agbonkhina created and Founded Suits For Judah, a 501(C)(3) Nonprofit Charity Organization that aims to change the lives of young people in Dallas, Texas, by providing them with mentorship, exposure, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. Suits For Judah uses filmmaking as a tool to help the youth capture the stories of their lives and neighborhoods, and to inspire them to pursue their dreams. The organization also provides suits for the youth to wear during important events, such as graduations, interviews, and ceremonies. Suits For Judah has been recognized as a community humanitarian of the year in 2021, Best Nonprofit in 2022 and has received positive feedback from the people it serves. You can learn more about Suits For Judah by visiting their Facebook page, or their profile on GuideStar. Their goal is to reach and impact the 1 in 6 Texas prison ratio that affects the residents of Pleasant Grove, Oak Cliff, and South Dallas. One of the many ways they are achieving this is through their original program, Word On Da Street W/ Judah.

Word On Da Street W/Judah is a program that teaches and exposes the community to independent film making. Their YouTube channel features interviews, and events filmed during the George Floyd unrest. The channel was created by Judah Agbonkhina and aims to redefine guerilla news reporting. The channel shares stories of people from different walks of life who are affected by social injustice. It also covers events that were buried over the last year. The channel also features several Documentaries created by @wodswj.

Judah worked hard capturing the stories of his community and sharing them with the world, eventually catching the attention of Local Journalism Professionals and Film Industry Platforms. In August of 2022 Judah was offered the position of Director of Documentaries at DTRTV, a video streaming platform on Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Firestick and more. In September of 2022 Judah was made a part of the Dallas Free Press Journalistic team as a Multimedia Journalist. His latest accomplishment is becoming an Official Member of ForbesBLK , a global community of Black entrepreneurs, professionals, leaders and creators that are driving systematic change in business, culture and society.

Judah is the definition of Self-Made, achieving his goals through grit, determination and persistence.
Lack of Resources is what drives Crime in underdeveloped and underserved Neighborhoods like the ones Judah grew up in, in Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove and South Dallas. The world should know this. Suits For Judah, Word On Da Street W/ Judah and Judah Agbonkhina himself are working to help spread that knowledge.
