We had the good fortune of connecting with JRose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JRose, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors behind my success is staying consistent. There are so many challenges that have tried to derail my journey but focusing on staying consistent has helped me navigate through those adversities.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been writing poetry for over 20 years and performing for over 6 years. I am very excited about my talk show titled, The JRose Experience. It is a traveling talk show where I visit different cities and interview Poets based all over the US. The show has had it’s share of ups and downs but once I teamed up with a phenomenal production team, I was able to launch the show and take it on the road. I know this project is a way for me to continue serving my purpose so I’ve learned to trust the process and myself. I want the world to know that my brand/story is dedicated to providing a space for Poets and other creatives to #KeepGrowing
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d definitely take them to a few open mics all over the city. We’d go to our hometown, Astoria and eat at one of the many restaurants along Steinway St. We would go to the Brooklyn Bridge for some fun photos. As long as it’s summertime, we’d go to some beaches in Long Island for sure. A picnic in Astoria Park would be a great way to cap the week.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jessica Payes for recommending me. Shay Marie G & Michelle Antonelli for supporting me not only professionally but also personally.
