Meet Jonathan Foreman | Former Fighter & Boxing Purist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Foreman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, every day, we know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Pay The Toll Boxing started as a reflection of the sacrifices fighters make. Nothing in boxing, or life, comes without a cost. You’ve got to pay the toll through sweat, pain, and discipline if you want to reach greatness. Then it all clicked while I was training at Booth’s Paint and Body Shop in Houston, right off the Hardy Toll Road. I was literally paying a toll every day just to chase this dream. That spot and that symbolism made the name even more real. It wasn’t just a phrase anymore, it was my lifestyle. I always wanted to honor the thousands walks of life that fighters go through
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is that I’ve lived every layer of this sport from being in the ring, to behind the mic, to building platforms for other fighters to shine. I’m not just covering boxing. I’ve fought, I’ve bled, I’ve sacrificed. That gives everything I create a level of truth and respect you can’t fake. I’m most proud of Pay The Toll Boxing because it started as a mindset, and now it’s a movement. It’s about the price you pay to chase greatness and I paid mine.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I had losses in and out of the ring. I’ve been counted out. But I kept showing up, learning, adjusting, and staying consistent. What pushed me through was the people around me my coach, my family, mentors who saw something in me even when I didn’t. I’ve learned that you don’t have to be perfect to win you just have to be real and relentless.
I want the world to know that Pay The Toll isn’t just boxing it’s a blueprint for life. We tell stories of struggle, hustle, and hunger, especially for the ones who don’t always get the spotlight. My story’s still being written, but every chapter is built on faith, fight, and never forgetting where I came from.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man all my friends know I like to keep it cool and laid back. I just moved to the DFW so I don’t have a real place to kick it yet. I do like Cigars International because we have 2 in Houston as well so thats where I would take them. Sambuca was cool when I visited for the live band as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“I have to give a big shoutout to the people who laid the foundation for Pay The Toll Boxing and my journey overall. First and foremost, my forever coach Ron ‘Tequila’ Collins who believed in me when it was just raw talent and a dream. To my cousin Big Don, who always kept my head straight when things got heavy. The entire Obregon family in Houston. Your support was real and constant, like family. And most importantly, my dad Roy Foreman and my uncle George Foreman. Investing even a second of your time into me and giving me the chance to live out a dream I used to only talk about. I carry that with me in everything I do. Can’t forget Twin(Terrell Lamb). I wouldn’t be consistently doing this without him. I barely like talking boxing with people but he walking with me.
