We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Weisbeck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We’ve been thinking about adding an income stream to our household in addition to our full time positions for awhile. As we started to hear more and more about the power and impact of ketamine therapy for mental health conditions, we just couldn’t ignore the evidence. We are a husband/wife team uniquely prepared to offer ketamine services in our community. Meghan is a board-certified anesthesiologist and Joe is a Registered Nurse. We thought this novel treatment would be a welcome resource in our area. There were some other, similar offices in the DFW area, but nothing in our immediate area.

With mental health issues on the rise, and support on the decline, we set out to open our treatment clinic; Impact Infusions in Argyle, TX.

What should our readers know about your business?
Impact Infusions provides ketamine infusion therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD and chronic pain. This treatment is offering new hope to patients who have struggled to find relief through more traditional routes. We’ve implemented best practices in this treatment process to achieve significant outcomes for our patients.

Aside from the challenges of forming a new business, one of our greatest challenges is education both the public and professionals about this new option for care. There is a stigma around mental health and even further skepticism around new treatment options.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would hang out at Marty B’s Coffee in Bartonville and not leave for the week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
About the same time we were writing the business plan, our church, Fellowship of the Parks, launched a mental health support initiative. As part of their 30th anniversary, they set out to address the needs of the congregation and community. We took this positive reenforcement that we were moving in the right direction. Shout out to the church leadership to not only see and recognize a need, but stand up and do something about it!
