We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Bledsoe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremiah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My work ethic helps me to achieve my goals. I work extremely hard, and I believe that a good work ethic is the main ingredient for success. In fact, no one stumbles upon success. Accomplishing your goals is not an accident. It requires focus, hard work, and dedication. Also, my community of mentors, friends, teachers, coaches, and family support me a great deal.
It is such a blessing to have a network of support in all areas of my life. Many people know that I am a scholar athlete. I have some amazing teachers at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Nolan Catholic High School provides a college preparatory education and prepares students to be tomorrow’s servant leaders. My teachers push me to be my very best in the classroom and on the field. As the quarterback, it is important to have a CEO and championship mindset. My teammates are depending on me to be my best all the time. I’ve played the position of quarterback since I was in the 7th grade and I really enjoy the role.

In addition to doing well in school and sports, giving to others gives me inspiration to make a difference in our world. I believe in servant leadership and providing service to others in our community. Six years ago, I adopted a local nursing home in our area. During the year, I work to help get necessities for our seniors. Even during the pandemic, I collect items that they need to make them comfortable. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit them and share my time with them in person. However, they appreciate my donations and the devotionals that I send. I always enjoy giving back and supporting our seniors. This initiative started over six years ago and it continues to help keep me focused on what’s important.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that my generation of leaders are global changemakers. We can use our talents and gifts to make a difference in the world. During the pandemic, my father challenged me to make the most of my time as scholar, athlete, and entrepreneur. I decided to take the challenge and demonstrate my resiliency. First, as a scholar athlete and youth entrepreneur, goal setting is extremely important. My parents, teachers, and coaches encourage me to use goal setting to help me achieve my dreams. I create daily and weekly goals that help me to get to the next level. My scholarship, athleticism, and innovation are a reflection of my values and commitment to excellence. If anything, studying for test, working on my quarterback techniques, and building my brand help me to show up as my best self. During a pandemic I developed J8 Creative. It is a social enterprise that provides cutting edge, creative solutions. When customers use my service, a portion of the proceeds will support elderly residents in senior living facilities. I want the world to know that my hard work ethic, determination, and commitment to excellence make me a resilient changemaker. My triumphs, struggles, and victories help to make me the young man that I am today. It is my desire that you will use J8 Creative and help me help others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since the pandemic, young people are tapping into their creativity to connect with others. I really enjoy doing community service. It’s rewarding and so many people are in need of help. Now is the perfect time to connect with non profits and other groups to support them. I also enjoy hanging out at the Quarterback Ranch and working out with my trainers.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my family, friends, teachers, and coaches for pouring into me. I would not be the person I am today, if I did not have them in my life. Special thanks to each of you!
