We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayme Elizabeth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayme, what matters most to you?
My faith in God. Growing up I’m not sure I could articulate a response as I can now, but over the years I have developed a better understanding of what I value the most. My relationship with God holds great significance and is beneficial to how I live my every day. When I choose to put God first in life by immersing myself in His Word and prayer, I experience the overflow it produces of kindness, compassion, courage, hope, and peace. Holding my faith in highest regard, creates generosity with kindness and compassion towards others. In a world culture that is usually about self, my faith gives me the ability and desire to have an outward focus of who I can help and encourage. My faith creates in me a humility and compassion to see others as they really are; created by God in His image to do what He has called them into according to His plans and purpose.
Courage is another result I’ve experienced from my faith becoming stronger. My boldness and confidence comes from knowing that God is faithful and His love is unconditional. If He calls me to it, He will see me through it. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Hope has a significant relationship to my faith. Without faith there’s no hope. My hope and faith are assured in my salvation by Jesus Christ. Knowing God is who He says He is gives me hope in that I have an all-sovereign God to care for me. The gift of peace from my faith also gives me the capability to walk through troubles in life knowing He’s got me and will get me through whatever I face.
I have learned that only through the value of my faith, I can try to live out this example in Romans 12:9-10 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am a writer and the host of She Speaks Life Podcast. I love what I do in providing opportunities for women to share what God has done in their lives. I have a passion for teaching and inspiring women to grow in God’s word. I value the authenticity of God Stories (testimonies) that help us know and develop deeper relationships with God. Over the past ten years, I have been actively involved in women’s ministry leadership; I am a firm believer in linking arms with other women as God builds and transforms lives.

I was challenged by doubt and fear as I stepped into podcasting without knowing what I was doing. I just knew this was something God had placed on my heart and out of obedience and trusting in Him I followed. I learned that when you step out in faith God provides for your every need.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place. I love flowers so I enjoy this wonderful and tranquil spot. I’m drawn to any body of water, so Lady Bird Lake or the Texas Coast is my jam!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s been so many people in my experience with women in ministry and bible studies that have influenced and encouraged me in my spiritual walk. But there’s one pivotal point in my life that really made an impact in my faith that deserves a shoutout. It is the book called, “Jesus of the Suburbia: Have We Tamed the Son of God to Fit our Lifestyle?” by Pastor, Mike Erre from Rock Harbor Church in Costa Mesa, California.

Also, my husband Derek has been my biggest encourager in life. Whatever God inspires in me, he is always there to support my efforts and I am forever grateful for his devotion to God and love for me.
