We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack Hill Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, how do you think about risk?

Most decisions in life are based on some level of risk. I think what sets people apart when it comes to risk is each persons individual tolerance for risk. Some people are more conservative in their approach, others are ready to jump in with both feet… I think I fall somewhere in the middle of that spectrum. With great risk comes great reward…but you can also lose your ass. Taking educated risks has been one of the most important factors in my successes and failures, both personally and in my career. My thought process on it is when you take the risk and fail…you’re able to learn what didn’t work and now move forward with plan b.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hill Building Group is a full-service commercial construction management firm specializing in everything from renovations to new ground up construction. Founded by Jack Hill, Hill Building Group is a team of builders that subscribe to the idea that trust and strong relationships are the most important attributes of any successful project. This philosophy is at the core of our client-centric “WE” project approach. Project success is a “WE” effort fueled by all project team members. Our idea at HBG is simple, successful projects are built on solid relationships. Relationships are and will continue to be the key factor in our success as a company.

HBG is still a very young company, and although we as a company are in a much better place than where we were when we started out, we still face the same main challenge that we did when we started… how do we successfully reach and maintain our goals as a company? This is a great challenge to have, and the answer to it is always evolving. It is something that is constantly being discussed, tweaked and reimplemented in order to address the changing needs of the company.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
