Meet Indigo | Dance Team

We had the good fortune of connecting with Indigo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Indigo, what’s your definition for success?
Success for us comes from within the team. When we’re satisfied with what we put out, that’s all that matters.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Indigo has worked hard over the years to be recognized as a team of hard working performers. We take pride in being a group that can take dance routines a step further by incorporating a storyline through our song choices, choreography, makeup, and wardrobe. For two years we have experimented with different styles and genres to understand what works for us as a team. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to be a group that could stand out and be recognized for not just our skills but our style. Indigo likes to take on a grim approach when it comes to routines. We like to think of it as a way to express ourselves and our hardships through our art. When we settled on that identity with our first performance incorporating that style, we felt like we had experienced a big milestone. Overcoming the challenge of finding our identity was an arduous journey but we enjoy being a team that can show the world that K-pop routines dont have to be restricted to just one style, they can be fierce, melancholic, or even spooky.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A must do would be attending a local K-pop event and supporting the community and other dancers! Along with watching performances, we could grab a quick bite while we look around at what else the event has to offer. We would also be sure to visit a dance studio and film to remember the trip!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would love to dedicate our shoutout to RGV KPOP SHOP. They have believed in us since the beginning and after two years of working with each other in the community, they were our first official sponsor. We recognize the impact that they’ve had in the RGV K-Pop community and the big role they’ve played in our growth as a team.
