Hi Geolaina “Jo”, what is the most important factor behind your success?
At the core of the JoCopeland Brand lies a multitude of pillars, yet none stand as prominently as the ministry embodied in my debut Christian book, “Broken Legacies.” For me, the pivotal factor is knowing that God has called me to this role. My faith is the bedrock upon which I stand. Without it, I am nothing. My deepest passion lies in witnessing individuals heal and evolve into their best selves. I know that with God, all things are possible. Mark 9:23

What should our readers know about your business?
My journey into entrepreneurship began after spending 16 fulfilling years as an educator and 4 enriching years as a children’s ministry director. Throughout my career, my overarching goal has always been to effect positive change within my community and nurture a generation grounded in faith and respect for God.

Transitioning from the familiarity of my previous professions was undoubtedly challenging, but I recognized the necessity of leveraging my gifts and talents beyond the confines of traditional settings to achieve a broader impact. Thus, over the past 8 months, I’ve embarked on the exciting venture of establishing the JoCopeland Brands, which encompasses various pillars aimed at serving diverse needs.

Firstly, “Broken Legacies” stands as a beacon of hope, offering ministry to the brokenhearted. Then there’s “The Adventures of Super Kai,” a platform dedicated to fostering a love for reading and enhancing literacy skills in children. “The Winning Culture” is another facet of my brand, specializing in public speaking and professional development training tailored for ministries and organizations. Lastly, “Jo Copeland Photography” endeavors to capture the inherent beauty of individuals and families, preserving precious moments for generations to come.

My dedication lies in harnessing all the gifts and talents bestowed upon me to uplift and empower my community. As I navigate the realm of full-time entrepreneurship, I continue to learn and grow, seeking to maximize my potential and overcome inevitable challenges along the way.

Undoubtedly, one of the greatest hurdles I faced was stepping away from the comfort of the familiar toward the uncertainty of the unknown. However, I firmly believe that faith necessitates taking risks. Thus, I’ve committed myself to personal growth, striving to refine my skills, conquer my fears, and emerge as the best version of myself.

In essence, my journey exemplifies the power of faith, resilience, and dedication. Through the JoCopeland Brands, I aspire to inspire others to embrace their own unique gifts and talents, believing wholeheartedly in their ability to make a profound impact on the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Welcome to Arlington, TX We’ll kick things off in Arlington Highlands, a plethora of amazing restaurants to choose from. Then, we’ll head over to Trinity Groves in West Dallas, my hometown, to soak in the local vibes and savor some more fantastic food.

Day 2: Spiritual Nourishment and City Views
We’ll start our day with some spiritual upliftment at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church. Then, it’s off to downtown Dallas to catch breathtaking views of the city from Reunion Ball.

Day 3: Retail Therapy and Karaoke
Prepare for some serious shopping therapy at NorthPark Mall! After that, we’ll unleash our inner rockstars at Karaoke Night and belt out our favorite tunes.

Day 4: Laughter and Comedy
Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt! We’re catching a comedy show at the Improv tonight, where top-notch comedians will keep us entertained.

Day 5: Relaxation and Quality Time
Today is all about relaxation and spending quality time together. We can enjoy a brunch and explore local parks or scenic spots.

Day 6: Cultural Exploration
Let’s dive into Dallas’s rich culture by visiting museums, art galleries, or attending cultural events happening around the city.

Day 7: Farewell Celebration
We’ll wrap up our week-long adventure with a memorable night out, reminiscing about our incredible experiences and creating lasting memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the vibrant community of West Dallas, whose unwavering support has played an instrumental role in shaping my journey. Organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, North Hampton Recreation Center, and the Police Horse Barn have been beacons of hope and opportunity, providing invaluable resources and mentorship to countless individuals, including myself.

Furthermore, I am incredibly blessed to have been surrounded by a network of dedicated teachers and mentors who have invested their time, wisdom, and love into nurturing my growth. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to my mother, Paulette Mangum and father, George Carlisle for their endless encouragement and unwavering belief in my potential.

I am also indebted to the guidance and mentorship provided by individuals like King Cross, Carolyn Jordan, Mary Turner, Lavonnia Ball, Chyrel Roseborough, and Chyrel Brown, whose wisdom and support have been invaluable pillars of strength throughout my journey.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to acknowledge the profound impact of my husband, Kirk Copeland, my children Kai and Chloe, and extended family and friends, whose unwavering support and encouragement have lifted me up during both triumphs and challenges.
