Meet Gabby Gumby | Lash Artist & Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabby Gumby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabby, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued this career as an outlet. I wanted to give others a place to express themselves through their own beauty. Art is also a way to show your own unique talents that you have within. Through lashing, I am able to create sets that some deem too much or out of the norm while in the esthetics, world it’s not unusual to see color or out the norm. I love being able to express my inner imagination and bring out sets that are uniquely tailored to that individual’s liking.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to being a lash artist, there are certain styles some artist are not willing to create. However, I love pushing the limit. such as adding glitter, hearts or butterflies to the lashes. If my client can imagine it, I can create it with the health of their lash line remaining top priority. I believe the best way to set yourself apart is to bring your clients wildest dreams to life, It makes the experience so much better. During facials, I love to put on meditation videos, depending on what my clients are going through in life. So, when its over, not only do they feel renewed physically, but also emotionally.

I’m really excited to be here; pursuing my business, waking up every morning and trying again. Running a business is often lonely at times, and it makes you want to quit every other day. You could have an incredible week, then the next one or two can be very dry and empty. This leads you to question if you’re really a success or not. When I was in school, I almost gave up because I just felt like I wasn’t going anywhere. I felt like i’m coming in everyday but i’m just not advancing. But thanks to my teacher, Ms. Paris, she walked me through. Also, my family pushed me to make it out on top.

I never start anything and not finish. I’m a Leo and nothing can take us down unless it’s ourselves. The main thing i’d like the world to know about AmbrosiaWynks is to be you; not in the cliche way either be you from the core. If someone tells you that you can’t, then walk circles around them with your success. You are the key component to this life. Nothing moves without you. You are beautiful enough to do any and everything you aspire. You hold the power you seek within you. You never need to look outside of yourself or to others to validate where you can go or what you can become.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I am a homebody. I always call myself a grandma because I hardly ever leave the house. When I do leave, my favorite restaurants are Capital Grille, Red Claw and Moxies. I can give the break down on those places because they are amazing.

Capital Grille is a fancy, high-end restaurant. It has a huge selection; from lamp chops, lobster mac n cheese and my favorite, glazed salmon. The whole menu is to die for. Some of the most fun I’ve had is at the bowling alley. I lived in South Korea and we really only had two choices which were to bowl or go to the movie theatre. The best bowling alley is AMF bowling. They have good drinks and on Friday- Saturday they have unlimited bowling where the lights go off which makes it so much fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a special shoutout to my family, my best friends and my classmate Cameryn Love who is also my business coach. These people have been rooting for me from the start and have been helping me grow my business into what it is today.
