Meet Freda Ross | Jewelry Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Freda Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Freda, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the most important factor for the success of my brand is being true to myself and my mission. My clients want to “wow” people when they walk into a room, and they don’t want to look like everyone else. I design jewelry masterpieces so that my clients stand out from the crowd. People have suggested I make pieces based on the latest trends, but my clients want classic styles that they can wear for years and pass down to their children and grandchildren.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Accessories have always been a huge part of my life. Even as a child I loved playing dress up with bracelets and purses. As I got older, I became frustrated with the craftsmanship of mass-produced pieces and decided to make my own jewelry. I literally took apart necklaces and earrings to see how they were constructed and put them back together.

As my “hobby” turned into a business I have loved working with my clients to understand their style and
wants and needs. I work closely with them to create the looks they want to achieve. Many of them had stopped wearing jewelry because it didn’t fit properly, or they didn’t know how to accessorize. I listen to them and create the pieces that make them feel comfortable and beautiful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a huge fan of The Arts and live in the Dallas-Ft Worth area so If I had a friend visiting, we would have plenty of options to choose from for entertainment and food.

The area is home to numerous museums, theaters, restaurants and even sports franchises. We could catch a touring Broadway show, enjoy some delicious BBQ or Tex-Mex and finish up at a comedy show or tour of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to thank God and my family for all of the successes in my life. Even when I wasn’t a strong Christian or following God the way I should have I know now that He orchestrated everything in my life; including the family He placed me into.

I come from a strong family of go-getters and entrepreneurs, so I have always seen that hard work pays off. Of course, my family members were some of my first customers and they have continued to support me in various ways throughout the years.

In their honor I have named the pieces on my website after family members and dear friends, who I love like family. It’s my way of letting them know they are an important part of my story and success.
