We had the good fortune of connecting with Fred Gans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fred, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I didn’t want someone else determine how much money I could make. I wanted that limitation to depend upon me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been self employed for 35 years. I’ve Always had a strong work ethic. I’m ADD and enjoy multitasking which is perfect for real estate development. I’m also a serial entrepreneur and willing to take multiple risks. I’ve had a loyal staff for over 20 years. I love being around hard-working like-minded peopleAnd being a motivator by setting example.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would take my friend to Lake Texoma and enjoy lake life.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Lynette Bush was head of acquisitions for the 4th largest self storage company in the US. I was a real estate broker and she took an interest in me to teach me the fundamentals of self storage. As a result I’ve developed 80 facilities in 12 states today. It allowed and enabled me to leave brokerage and become a developer.
