We had the good fortune of connecting with Ejiroghene Ejayeriese Ejayeriese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ejiroghene Ejayeriese, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor would definitely be the discovery of my identity in Christ. It definitely is refreshing to receive a new revelation of who I am, what I have been called to do, and how to get there. It is extremely motivating and relieving to understand that I can never be defined by my past mistakes, flaws but by the creator of the universe. Knowing that I don’t need any other verification stamp other than that of my heavenly father to carry on with my mission saves the stress of overthinking and constantly questioning the effort I put Into my work. I am only just getting started and cannot wait to see what the future holds because God will get the glory through it all. As I stay submitted and committed, I remain elevated.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up I have always known I wanted to do something related to networking with people and music. I struggled with a lot of identity issues growing up, broken relationships, sexual abuse as well as emotional damage that contributed greatly to my identity crisis. I was often taken advantage of because I always had a heart for people and it sometimes got out of hand to the point of losing myself in the midst. I had moments where I struggled with suicide, depression, and major anxiety. I was so good at masking my struggles that I became so numb. I got to a point where I was about to have everything I wanted as an upcoming artist but I could not ignore the emptiness that engulfed my heart. One encounter with God and I knew this was what my heart had longed for. Currently, I am a recording artist and a worship leader. I want the world to receive freedom through my music and experience the love of God as well as recognize the sacrifice Jesus made for our freedom. I want to eliminate the shame and condemnation and bring the wholeness God gives. I also am the host of a talk show on Youtube called ChosenTheTalkShow. This focuses on reforming our identities and finding them in Christ. We talk about several things and are still on the way to being greater each and every day. @chosen.worldwide is the IG page for that! I have learned that numbing the pain or avoiding it does not mean it’s gone, which allows for loopholes in your existence. Embracing pain and healing truly with available resources partnered with the power of God will launch you into a new dimension of joy and confidence.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My absolute favorite spots would be the gaming arcades! Pinstack, Dave and busters, Main events, and Andy B’s are really amazing arcade spots. My favorite spots to eat will definitely be TGI Fridays, Chili’s, BJ’s, and Cheddars! Mouthwatering food options you would not want to miss! I am also a very big health and wellness person so I would recommend a spa treatment or some resort. Spa castle is definitely a go-to as well as massage heights! They just know how to make you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. If you’re trying to see some fun or artistic things, I would recommend Candytopia in Dallas and the Museum of Illusions. I honestly would go back every month haha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, I would like to thank God for his favor and grace over my life. I would not be here without Him. I would also like to thank my parents and siblings for their support! Also, a big shoutout to the Pastors of Faith-filled Church, Pastor Mecie, and Pastor Joshua for all the sacrifices they made to help boost my growth. Billy, Deja, Marissa, Reigna, Dami, Robyne, Bibi, Desola, Aletrice, DJ, Kendrick, Samuel, Ore and the other amazing people who have stuck with me through it all I love you all so much! My amazing Mentor Miss Tracey Rivers, I love you so much and bless God for your life! My Videographer – Aziz and my Director – Damilare Olopade. Pastor Bumie Dada, you are a light in my life always! Rishunn McCaleb, my favorite trainer, thank you for believing in me and pushing me beyond my expectations. Everybody else I did not have the opportunity to mention, I love you all so much, and thank you oh so much!!!
