We had the good fortune of connecting with Dylan Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dylan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was looking for food that I was use to eating from Chicago, but I couldn’t find none so that was the beginning.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company name comes from my little brother that was killed on June 28th, 1996. What’s makes the date so memorable is that my mother Birthday is June 28th so go figure.. What makes DoeBoy’s Taste of Chicago so different from others is the original recipe and concept of Chicago nothing different and the love behind the food only adds to the taste. I started out doing fairs and festivals until the opportunity came with my first location in Tyler, Texas inside Texaco gas station. It has not been a easy road but I took the bumps and climbed the hills. I now have my own place in Kilgore, Texas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I stay in Tyler, Texas so it’s not nothing to do here for me. I would go to Dallas to hang out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother and Wife played a big role in me starting my business. Without support from them I wouldn’t had the Opportunity to complete my goal.
