We had the good fortune of connecting with Duo Design Partners and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Duo Design Partners, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our ideal lifestyle at this moment, as our kids are getting older, is to work for ourselves. We spend more time as a family and get to utilize all the experience we have gained in our 25+ years of working in brand and design. We enjoy the freedom of working confidently and directly with clients that we love.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re two brand-centric creative directors, designers, and consultants. We also happen to be married to one another, parents, chicken enthusiasts, fly fishers, dog lovers, and road trippers. We’ve been lucky. We’ve worked with a wealth of smart people on heady projects, big and small. That’s made us strong creatives. We’re seasoned enough to know how to get brand creative done effectively and nimble enough to remain fresh and scalable. If there’s anything we’ve learned along the way, it’s to trust your instinct. As a creative, you need to not second-guess yourself. Go with what you feel. Chances are, you’ll get favorable results. If not, it’s an opportunity to learn.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re relatively new to Fort Worth, but this is what we’d do: For dinner, barbecue at Woodshed outside on the gravel. They have a great spot on the Trinity, and the ambiance is great. Then karaoke at the Poop Deck at Bluebonnet Circle. You can really cut loose there and the people are characters! We also enjoy breweries like Panther Island, Wild Acre, and Martin House.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
CreativeMornings is an organization that has supported us and countless creatives all over the globe. At CreativeMornings, everyone is welcome and creative. Local chapter meetings are free once a month, and you can attend a virtual meeting somewhere else on the globe at almost any time. It’s inspiring and enriching.
