Meet Dr. Wynita Harmon | Gift Enthusiast and Event Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Wynita Harmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Wynita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
First, I love gift giving and throwing parties! It’s truly a passion of mine. I have several friends who would always say I’m the “hostess with the mostess” or how how thoughtful my gifts are. Besides wanting a creative outlet, I know that some people are busy and don’t have the time to put gifts together or style a party. Therefore, the thought process behind my business was creating a service that helps people personalize their events and gift others without doing all the work themselves! My business gives individuals access to provide personalized, custom curated gifts and style their own events with personalized decor for any theme! It’s all in the details and Art+Ink specializes in that!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Something that sets Art+Ink apart from others is that it isn’t one sized fits all! For gift boxes, I send a questionnaire to each client before we get started to get a feel for the recipient of the gift. This allows me to get to know the person and to curate a gift box idea that is personalized to their interests and for the occasion. For event styling, I also gain key information on the event by asking my clients their vision and all party details! From there, I plan and share ideas to bring the party to life and give it those special details that will make it stand out! I order and design the items and give it to the client to easily use when they set up their party! I recently added a champagne/donut wall for events that I am excited to break in soon!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Dallas! I am also a foodie so I like to try all types of food and new restaurants in the area and during my travels. While I love places like Haywire, Sixty Vines, Eight 11, Ida Claire, Jose and Eataly, I have recently tried a few new places so I’d love to share a fun weekend idea. For a fun weekend, I would go downtown to the Thompson hotel and book a room for the weekend! We would start at the pool, go to Catbird for tapas and finish the night at Kessaku for dinner! The next day we would have pool time, go to the spa within the hotel and have dinner at Monarch! We would wrap up the weekend sleeping in and heading out for brunch at the Common Table in Frisco. There chicken fried steak is a must and you can’t go wrong with the mimosa tower!

I want to dedicate this shout out to all my family and friends that encouraged me to take my talents and use them towards starting Art+Ink! Your encouragement pushed me to move forward with my passion for styling events and curating gift boxes!
