Meet Dr. Jake Herring | Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jake Herring and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Jake, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Going to a chiropractor just for back pain is like buying an iPhone just to use the calculator app. There are so many other benefits that people don’t know about! My office is primarily pediatric and most of the patients I see aren’t in pain, but are coming in to optimize their nervous system health, which helps them not only feel better, but function better too. When the nervous system is working better, all systems of the body work better and we can begin to heal, leading to changes in sleep, digestion, stress, etc. just to name a few.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I took a different approach to your traditional chiropractor. I am a pediatric and prenatal chiropractor, and I really focus on nervous system health and how the body is functioning, not just how you are feeling. Since this approach is quite a bit different, it makes it fun to share with others because it is something most people have never heard of. When I tell an adult chiropractic care can help with their sleep and stress levels, or it can help a baby with constipation and reflux, or prevent ear infections in a toddler, it gets them thinking differently about chiropractic and how it can assist the body healing in a natural and holistic way. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the little details of running a practice, but one thing I’ve learned is that, “people don’t care how much you know, they want to know how much you care.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being in Fort Worth, there are so many cool spots! I would take them to a local coffee spot, get some breakfast tacos at one of the many great restaurants around, and then go to the Fort Worth Stockyards where there is so much history and amazing places to eat and hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are too many people to name that have made an impact in my journey and where the office is today, but if I had to pick one or two that have made the biggest impact, I would say Dr. Tony Ebel with a group called The Pediatric Experience that has taught me almost everything I know about chiropractic and running a successful office. I also want to shout out my wife Caitlin for the continuous support and love that she gives every day.
