We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorian Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorian, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I loving taking risk, even though some scare me. I know it’s either going to evolve into something amazing or flop. Atleast I know I tried and learned from whatever experience it brings.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Dora’s Amora specializes in custom cakes, cupcakes and other treats. I’m self-taught, and I’m able to give my customers amazing cakes. I’m also a visual person I have a gift to create what I see. What sets me apart from others, my customer service skills are excellent; I treat everyone with love and respect. I also keep my prices affordable and have options available for every budget. I’m still building Dora’s Amora it hasn’t been easy. It’s imperative to stay relevant and productive to maintain a steady customer base it’s extremely competitive. When challenges happen I try to stay positive everything that happens is a learning opportunity. I’m imperfect no matter how much I plan. I understand that everything can still go wrong, so I’ve learned to be prepared for the worst and have a backup plans.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shout out to my customers thank you so much, I’m truly grateful for y’all. Shout out to my family they’re super supportive and don’t ask for discounts. My kids and my niece help me out so much when I have large orders, I love that they’re invested as much as me. To my editor/financial planner I truly appreciate all the support and advice. To my friends thank you, thank you I know I work y’all nerves. I’m so grateful for the love and the support I’ve received.
