We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ “Diogenes” Negron-Forsythe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ “Diogenes”, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
When I was 4 years old, I was at the Parks Mall and I saw a group of people doing stage modeling and singing, I said to my parents” I’ve been waiting all my life for this” I knew right there and then that music was for me. I performed “We will rock you” by Queen. Flash forward to when I was older around 12 years old I started to use music as an outlet to express my self with my thoughts, feeling and emotion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want to express what I feel through my music. and translated all my energy in written music into Toxic Madness It’s mainly our sound. What separates us from another good band from the DFW. area. Getting to the recording studio and recording our first Single Maniacs!! Then our first EP. was surreal.
through honing our craft and learning different ways to be us. It wasn’t the easiest. There were many setbacks here and there that could have stopped us, but I think our aggression and drive to create music kept us going. Communication and commitment to the craft are one of the keys to success along with understanding each other and who you’re working with. What I’m trying to express to the world through my music using toxic madness is what we encounter as people for example bullying, abuse, and controversy in the world that we live in. I expressed my feelings on bullying through our song borderline. Not the ethics of it, but rather what I felt on the matter.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely I would take them to see some bands at Three links first. Six Flags, Docs Records over Fort Worth, Coyote Drive-in., and Stockyard. Food wise I would take them to Salsa Limon, Kincaid burger in Fort Worth,, JJ Oysters, Crushcraft

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to Shoutout to School of Rock Fort Worth ( Mr Susie, Nolan, Joaquin, Tyler, Cailey, and Charles) and of course my Parents who have support my dreams
